All-Star Game Discussion Thread and In-Game

So no extra innings but we would go to a HR derby-type decider.

Instead, the game is decided by a Home Run Derby-style tiebreaker: each league selects three players (plus an alternate), and they each get three swings to hit as many home runs as they can. If still tied, it goes to sudden-death rounds until a winner is determined

That was entertaining AND awful all at once.

Start with a runner on 3B and nobody out. It wouldn’t go beyond 10 innings. Or 2B. Or whatever. But not that.

MLB is the closest thing to a legit all star game in all of sports…and then that shit occurs.

I don't mind the swing off. Sucks that some guys were gone from the stadium already.

I found rules on my locals site that got me paid on my NL bet. Originally was graded a push but.....

Had no idea this was the new tiebreaker till middle of the 9th.

Looks like this goes back at least to 2022 per your screenshot.

surprised me as well. I think it's bullshit to try to call it a tie. the rules state that the winner of the derby is the winner of the game. If you bet the NL to win, they clearly did so.

What about in a soccer games with regulation where there are separate moneyline and outright winner bets, with the former applying only to regulation time

You can't compare a sport with three way lines unless you actually bet a three way line on the All Star game...in which case if you bet draw last night on that, helluva call!

I had a small ML play on the NL. Heritage originally showed this as a cancelled ticket but sometime in the last 10 - 12 hours it paid the ticket. That feels like the right outcome. At least for me.
