ACSMA Announces 2016 All-ACC Football Teams

Posted: 11/28/2016 - Updated: 11/28/2016

Clemson leads with 15 selections, including nine on first team. Florida State's Dalvin Cook and Clemson's Ben Boulware (pictured) were the top vote-getters on offense and defense, respectively.

GREENSBORO, N.C. (theACC.com) – Clemson, which is set to defend its Atlantic Coast Conference championship later this week, leads all schools with 15 selections to the 2016 All-ACC Football Teams, as voted upon by the Atlantic Coast Sports Media Association (ACSMA).

The Atlantic Division co-champion Tigers placed nine members on the All-ACC first team (five offense, four defense).

Coastal Division champion Virginia Tech, which will face the Tigers in Saturday night’s Dr Pepper ACC Football Championship Game in Orlando, had nine total players chosen, as did Atlantic Division co-champion Louisville.

Forty-eight ACSMA members cast ballots for the 2016 All-ACC Football Teams, with three points awarded for each first-team vote, two points for each second-team vote and one point for each third-team selection.

Florida State junior Dalvin Cook, the ACC’s rushing leader with 1,620 yards, leads the overall voting with 139 points. He is joined on the first team by Louisville sophomore quarterback Lamar Jackson, who leads the conference in total offense with 410.7 yards per game and set a conference record for touchdown responsibility with 51 (30 passing, 21 rushing).

Rounding out the first-team backfield is Pitt running back James Conner, the 2014 ACC Player of the Year, who battled back from a bout with cancer and a knee injury to re-establish himself as one of college football’s elite players. The first-team receiving trio of Clemson’s Mike Williams, Syracuse’s Amba Etta-Tawo and North Carolina’s Ryan Switzer have combined for 264 receptions, 29 touchdowns and more than 3,600 receiving yards.

Also featured on the offensive first team are two-time ACC Jacobs Blocking Trophy winner Roderick Johnson of Florida State and Clemson tight end Jordan Leggett. The Tigers’ presence is felt across the front line with center Jay Guillermo, tackle Mitch Hyatt and guard Tyrone Crowder all earning first-team selections. They are joined by Pitt guard Dorian Johnson.

Clemson linebacker Ben Boulware, who helps anchor a Tigers’ unit that has allowed just 17 points and a shade over 300 yards per game, leads the All-ACC defensive first-team voting. He is joined by defensive ends DeMarcus Walker of Florida State and Ejuan Price of Pitt; tackles Carlos Watkins of Clemson and Woody Baron of Virginia Tech, and fellow linebackers Micah Kiser of Virginia and Devonte Fields of Louisville.

A pair of Clemson seniors earned first-team spots in the secondary, with Cordrea Tankersley manning one cornerback position and Jadar Johnson chosen at safety. They are joined by Virginia junior safety Quin Blanding and Florida State sophomore cornerback Tavarus McFadden.

Virginia’s Kiser (11.2 per game) and Blanding (10.0) lead the ACC in total tackles. Florida State’s Walker shares the NCAA FBS lead in quarterback sacks with Boston College’s Harold Landry with 15, and Pitt’s Price has 12 to his credit. Price also leads the ACC with 21 total tackles for loss. McFadden’s eight interceptions lead the conference.

Wake Forest kicker Mike Weaver, Pitt explosive returner Quadree Henderson and Virginia punter Nicholas Conte complete the All-ACC first team.

PROVIDENCE, R.I. – USF quarterback Quinton Flowers, who has led the Bulls to their most successful season in program history, and UCF linebacker Shaquem Griffin, who has helped the Knights to a remarkable turnaround in 2016, were honored as the American Athletic Conference’s Offensive and Defensive Players of the Year by the league’s 12 head coaches.

Memphis return specialist Tony Pollard was chosen as The American’s Special Teams Player of the Year. Houston defensive tackle Ed Oliver was the coaches’ choice as Rookie of the Year.

Navy coach Ken Niumatalolo, who led the Midshipmen to the outright West Division title, won The American’s Coach of the Year honor for the second straight year.

Flowers was chosen as the American Athletic Conference Offensive Player of the Year after he finished the regular season as the only player in the conference to both throw for 2,000 yards and rush for 1,000. He set school records for total offense (3,976 yards), rushing yards (1,425), rushing touchdowns (15) and total touchdowns (37) and is the American Athletic Conference leader in pass efficiency (153.5). Flowers set the American Athletic Conference single-season record for rushing yards by a quarterback and ranked third among all league players in rushing, averaging 118.8 yards per game and 8.1 yards per carry. Beyond the numbers, Flowers directed a USF offense that scored at least 30 points in every game this season, and in 15 straight games, dating to 2015, helping the Bulls to 10 wins for the first time in school history. Flowers is the first USF player to win a major individual football award from the conference.

Griffin becomes the third UCF player to win a major football honor from The American, following Blake Bortles (the 2013 Offensive Player of the Year) and Jacoby Glenn (the 2014 Defensive Player of the Year). Griffin made an immediate impact in his first year as a starter, finishing as the American Athletic Conference leader in sacks (11.0) and ranking third in the conference in tackles for loss (19.0). Griffin finished the regular season with 85 total tackles along with two forced fumbles, two fumble recoveries, six pass breakups and an interception, helping the Knights - who went winless in 2015 - to six wins and bowl eligibility in 2016.

Pollard continued Memphis’ hold on The American’s Special Teams Player of the Year award, giving the Tigers the winner of that honor for the fourth straight year (joining punter Tom Hornsey in 2013 and kicker Jake Elliott, who won in 2014 and 2015). Pollard ranks ninth nationally in kickoff returns, averaging 28.4 yards per attempt, and had 993 yards on kickoffs as a freshman. He returned two kickoffs for touchdowns, finishing the regular season as the only player in The American with more than one special teams touchdown. Prior to this season, Memphis had not scored on a kickoff return since 1996.

Oliver becomes the second Houston player to be named as The American Rookie of the Year (quarterback John O’Korn won in 2013). A unanimous selection to the all-conference first team as well, Oliver made an immediate impact on the Cougars, who finished the regular season ranked second nationally in rushing defense (97.9 yards per game). Oliver finished second in the conference in tackles for loss (19.5) and had 5.0 sacks, three forced fumbles, a team-high nine pass breakups and seven quarterback hurries.

Niumatalolo repeated as American Athletic Conference Coach of the Year after his Midshipmen went 7-1 in American Athletic Conference play for the second consecutive year, clinching the West Division title and home field advantage in Saturday’s conference championship game. Despite returning only one offensive starter from last year’s team, and losing this year’s starting quarterback to a season-ending injury on Opening Day, the Midshipmen have been one of the most prolific offensive teams in the nation in 2016, ranking second in the NCAA in rushing (342.0 ypg), and 11th in scoring (41.7 ppg). Along the way, Navy has committed the fewest penalties (30) and has the second-fewest turnovers (9) of any team in the nation.

In addition to the major award-winners, The American also named its first, second and honorable mention all-conference teams. Oliver and Temple defensive end Haason Reddick were both unanimously selected to the first team in 2016, while Memphis kicker Jake Elliott becomes the first player in conference history to be named to the first team four times.

2016 All-Big 12 Football Awards Announced

December 07, 2016

The All-Big 12 Conference football teams and individual award winners have been announced. Selections are made by the league's 10 head coaches, who are not permitted to vote for their own players.

All-Big 12 Honors Notebook:
simple-big12logo-tiny.png
Dede Westbrook garnered Oklahoma's sixth Offensive Player of the Year Award and second consecutive. Other OU winners include quarterbacks Baker Mayfield (2015), Sam Bradford (2008), Jason White (2003 and 2004) and Josh Heupel (2000). Westbrook is just the second wideout to claim the award along with Oklahoma State's Justin Blackmon (2010).

simple-big12logo-tiny.png

[h=1]FB: 2016 Players of the Year[/h] December 07, 2016
Conference USA announced its 2016 Players of the Year today, as selected by the league’s 13 head football coaches. C-USA is completing its 21st football campaign by sending a record seven teams to bowl games.

2016 Football Players of Year Release

Louisiana Tech senior QB Ryan Higgins is the recipient of the Conference USA Most Valuable Player Award, marking the eighth time in the last nine seasons that a quarterback has been named C-USA MVP. He leads C-USA in completions (300), attempts (456), passing yards (4,208) and passing touchdowns (37). Higgins’ average of 350.7 yards per game ranks third in the FBS, while his touchdown total is tied for fifth nationally. He topped the 300-yard mark in passing six times this season, including a pair of 500+- yard performances. Higgins led the Bulldogs to the West Division Championship and the school’s third consecutive bowl appearance with a spot in the Lockheed Martin Armed Forces Bowl.

Louisiana Tech junior WR Carlos Henderson becomes the first player to be named Offensive Player of the Year and Special Teams Player of the Year in the same season since the league began sponsoring football in 1996. Henderson is second in C-USA and tied for fourth nationally with 21 touchdowns (league-high 17 receiving, two rushing and two on kickoff returns). As a receiver, he has caught 72 passes for 1,406 yards, a league-leading 19.5 yards per reception. As a kick returner, Henderson has 22 returns for 668 yards (30.4 average), with two scores.

Defensive recognition went to Florida Atlantic senior DE Trey Hendrickson, the first Owl to win the award and the first defensive lineman since 2011. He closed his career as the school’s all-time sack leader with 29.5, a figure that ranks seventh in C-USA history. This season, Hendrickson placed second in the conference in sacks with 9.5 and tackles for loss with 15. He posted a career-high in tackles (50), added a forced fumble and a fumble recovery and had a huge impact on special teams with four a nation-leading blocked kicks.

Freshman of the Year honors were given to UTSA LB Josiah Tauaefa, who leads all C-USA rookies and ranks third in the FBS among freshmen in tackles with a school-record 104. Just the third linebacker to win the honor in league history, Tauaefa added five sacks, seven quarterback hurries, one interception and two passes defended. He becomes the first UTSA player to win a conference individual award in the program’s six-year history.

Junior QB Mike White of WKU garnered the league’s Newcomer of the Year award, becoming the fourth straight signal-caller to win the award after leading the Hilltoppers to their second consecutive Conference USA Championship. He has a league-high seven games with 300 or more passing yards, totaling 4,027 through the air, a figure that ranks fifth nationally. White ranks 10th nationally in completion percentage (67.4), is ninth in touchdown passes (38) with only six interceptions on 386 attempts. He is third in the FBS with a 180.96 quarterback rating.

Cleveland, Ohio – A total of 29 repeat selections from last year’s All-MAC teams highlight this year’s postseason football awards in the Mid-American Conference and Western Michigan and Ohio swept the postseason awards.

Western Michigan senior wide receiver Corey Davis was named the MAC Offensive Player of the Year and Broncos Head Coach P.J. Fleck was named the MAC Head Coach of the Year, while Broncos junior kick returner Darius Phillips was named MAC Special Teams Player of the Year. Ohio senior defensive end Tarell Basham was named MAC Defensive Player of the Year, while Bobcats freshman safety Javon Hagan was named MAC Freshman of the Year. In addition, Western Michigan senior quarterback Zach Terrell was tabbed as the winner of the 35th Vern Smith Leadership Award.

2016 MAC Specialty Award Winners
Coach of the Year: P.J. Fleck, Western Michigan
Offensive Player of the Year: WR Corey Davis, Western Michigan
Defensive Player of the Year: DE Tarell Basham, Ohio
Special Teams Player of the Year: KR Darius Phillips, Western Michigan
Freshman of the Year: S Javon Hagan, Ohio
Vern Smith Leadership Award Winner: QB Zach Terrell, Western Michigan

A native of Wheaton, Ill, Davis started all 12 games this season and has 83 receptions for 1,283 yards (15.5 avg.) and 17 touchdowns. His 17 touchdowns ranks first in the nation and his 1,283 yards is tied for seventh in the country. This season Davis has set the MAC career receiving records for receptions (318), yards (5,068) and touchdowns (50). In addition, last week he became the all-time leader in FBS history with 5,068 receiving yards. He is the only player in FBS history with 300+ catches, 5,000+ yards and 50 receiving TDs.

Fleck led the Broncos to the program’s first outright West Division title and the first 12-0 mark and 8-0 record in the MAC in program history. The Broncos are just one of two programs in FBS that remain undefeated this season. Western Michigan’s current 14-game winning streak is the second longest current streak in the nation. This marks the second-time Fleck has won MAC Coach of the Year, as he earned the honor in 2014 for at the time leading the best turnaround in the country from one win in 2013 to eight wins in 2014. Fleck, who turned 36 on Nov. 29, is the second youngest head coach in FBS, has the Broncos bowl eligible for the third consecutive year, another program record.

Basham, a native of Rocky Mount, Va., started all 12 games this past year and led the Ohio defense as the Bobcats won the MAC East Division for the first time since 2011 with an 8-4 record, 6-2 in the MAC. Basham led the MAC with 10 sacks and was tied for third with 14.5 tackles for loss. Basham ranks tied for 16th in the nation with his 10 sacks. Basham added 44 tackles, two passes defensed and two forced fumbles. Basham became the all-time sack leader in Ohio history with 29 career sacks.

Hagan, a native of Jacksonville, Fla., ranked fifth on the Bobcats with 47 tackles and led the team with five forced fumbles and three interceptions. Hagan added three tackles for loss and 10 passes defensed. Hagan’s five forced fumbles tied for the lead in the MAC and ranked tied for fourth in the nation. His three interceptions ranked tied for fifth in the Conference.

Phillips, a native of Detroit, Mich., has been an electrifying runner throughout his collegiate career and has both a punt return and kickoff return for a touchdown during the 2016 season. Phillips has 16 punt returns for 169 yards (10.6 avg.) and one return for a touchdown this season. In addition, Phillips has 31 kickoff returns for 718 yards (23.2 avg.) and one touchdown this year.

A native of Fort Wayne, Ind., Terrell was voted by the Conference head coaches as the 35th Vern Smith Leadership Award winner. The award is presented annually in honor of Vern Smith, the former University of Toledo Athletic Director. Terrell has started all 12 games and has thrown for 3,086 yards on 228-318 passing and 30 touchdowns. Terrell ranks third in the nation in passing efficiency with a 183.7 rating on his 30-to-1 touchdowns-to-interception ratio. His 30 touchdowns are tied for 10th in the nation. Terrell has climbed the MAC all-time passing records charts as he now ranks fourth in MAC history with 93 career passing touchdowns and fifth in MAC history with 11,641 passing yards.

Toledo led the way in 2016 with seven First-Team selections, followed by Western Michigan and Ohio with four First-Team selections each. Overall, Western Michigan set the pace with 14 All-MAC honorees, followed by Toledo with 12 honorees and Ohio with 10 honorees.

Western Michigan’s Corey Davis was the only three-time First Team All-MAC honoree in this year’s honors. There were a total of five students named to their second consecutive First-Team selection: offensive lineman Storm Norton (Toledo), wide receiver Corey Davis (Western Michigan), defensive lineman Terence Waugh (Kent State), punter Joe Davidson (Bowling Green) and kick returner Aregeros Turner (Northern Illinois).

Pac-12 Football Awards And All-Conference Team Announced

Offensive Player of the Year: Jake Browning, Washington
Pat Tillman Defensive Player of the Year: Adoree’ Jackson, USC
Freshman Offensive Player of the Year: Sam Darnold, USC
Freshman Defensive Player of the Year: Taylor Rapp, Washington
Coach of the Year: Mike MacIntyre, Colorado

SAN FRANCISCO — Quarterback Jake Browning of WASHINGTON has been named Pac-12 Offensive Player of the Year, defensive back Adoree’ Jackson of USC the Pat Tillman Defensive Player of the Year and Mike MacIntyre of COLORADO the Pac-12 Coach of the Year. In addition, quarterback Sam Darnold of USC has been named the Pac-12 Offensive Freshman of the Year and defensive back Taylor Rapp the Pac-12 Defensive Freshman of the Year.

Offensive Player of the Year – Jake Browning, QB, Washington: Browning, a sophomore from Folsom, Calif., completed 214 passes in 329 attempts for 3,162 yards and a school record 40 touchdowns with just seven interceptions. Browning ranks fourth in the FBS in passing efficiency (181.6) and 17[SUP]th[/SUP] in completion percentage (.650). Was named Pac-12 Player of the Week and garnered many nationally weekly honors for his performance against Oregon on Oct. 8. He set the UW record with six touchdown passes, breaking the record of five, which he tied earlier in the season against Idaho on Sept. 10. He finished the game completing 22-of-28 for 304 yards with no interceptions, and rushed for two touchdowns, setting the school record for total touchdowns in a game, with eight. Under Browning’s guidance, the Huskies are averaging 44.8 points per game, well ahead of the school-record 41.9 points per game set in 1991. He’s led Washington to its first 10-win season since 2000 and has the Huskies ranked in the Associated Press Top 10 for 13 consecutive weeks. Browning is the first Husky to earn the honor since quarterback Marques Tuiasosopo in 2000.

Pat Tillman Defensive Player of the Year – Adoree’ Jackson, DB, USC: Jackson, a junior from Belleville, Ill., has been a dynamic three-way performer for the Trojans. He’s one of three finalists for the Jim Thorpe Award, honoring the nation’s top defensive back. He’s also one of four finalists for the Paul Hornung Award, honoring the nation’s most versatile player. Jackson is fourth on the team with 51 tackles and has four interceptions to go with 11 pass breakups and two fumble recoveries. In his role as a punt/kick returner, Jackson has 19 punt returns for 302 yards (15.9 avg) and two touchdowns, and 22 kick returns for 671 yards (30.5 avg) and two touchdowns. On the offensive side of the ball, he has five carries for 49 yards and one reception for 52 yards. In the final game of the regular season, a 45-27 win over Notre Dame, Jackson tallied 291 all-purpose yards and scored on a 55-yard punt return, a 52-yard catch and run, and a 97-yard kick return. He owns the USC career kickoff return yardage record (2,045 yards). He has scored 15 touchdowns via reception (6), interception (1), punt return (4) and kickoff return (4). Jackson is the first Trojan to win the award since linebacker Rey Maualuga in 2008.

Freshman Offensive Player of the Year – Sam Darnold, QB, USC: Darnold, a redshirt freshman from Capistrano Beach, Calif., came on to start in the fourth game of the season and has guided the Trojans to an 8-1 record in his nine starts, including a current winning streak of eight games in which USC posted better than 400 yards of total offense in each win. Darnold has completed 213-of-313 passes for 2,633 yards and a USC freshman record 26 touchdowns with just eight interceptions. Darnold is the only USC quarterback in history to have back-to-back games with five touchdowns in each (Arizona and California in 2016). He has thrown multiple TD passes in eight straight games, the first Trojan to do so since Matt Leinart in 2004. His 230 rushing yards in 2016 are the most in a season by a USC quarterback since Reggie Perry’s 254 in 1991.

Freshman Defensive Player of the Year – Taylor Rapp, DB, Washington:
Rapp, a freshman from Bellingham, Wash., has played in all 12 games this season, starting the last seven as the team’s fifth defensive back. He’s fifth on the team with 42 tackles and second on the squad with two interceptions, both coming against USC. He contributed to a Washington secondary that was second in the Pac-12 against the pass, allowing 201.9 yards per game.

Coach of the Year – Mike MacIntyre, Colorado:
Following one of the greatest one-season turnarounds in school history, MacIntyre earns Pac-12 Coach of the Year honors after leading the Buffaloes to a 10-2 record overall and a 8-1 mark in Conference play, claiming the school’s first South Division title. After completing the 2015 season with a 1-8 Pac-12 record and a 4-9 mark overall, the Buffs were picked to finish last in the Pac-12 South as they entered the 2016 campaign. With the all-time biggest overall improvement in Pac-12 Conference play from one year to the next, Colorado has climbed the polls and is currently ranked No. 9 in the latest AP rankings. Under MacIntyre, the Buffaloes lead the Conference in total defense (322.4 ypg), second in scoring defense (18.8 ppg) and are fifth in total offense (478.3 ypg). He is the fifth coach in Colorado history to be named Conference Coach of the Year, joining Dal Ward (Big Eight 1956), Eddie Crowder (Big Eight 1965), Bill McCartney (Big Eight 1985, 1989, 1990) and Gary Barnett (Big 12 2001, 2004).
In addition to individual awards, the Pac-12 coaches selected the 2016 All-Pac-12 Football Team that follows.

NOTES ON THE 2016 ALL-PAC-12 FOOTBALL TEAM

Selection Procedures: The All-Pac-12 Team is selected by the Pac-12 head football coaches.
By School: WASHINGTON placed the most players on the first team with nine selections. USC is next with four, although Adoree’ Jackson accounts for two spots as a DB and RS, followed by UCLA and UTAH with three selections each ... Pac-12 South Division champion COLORADO placed two on first team. It had just one first team selection in the previous five years (WR Paul Richardson, 2013). STANFORD and WASHINGTON STATE each had two first team selections, while ARIZONA STATE had one.
By Class: Of the 27 first-team selections, 11 are seniors, 12 are juniors, and four are sophomores.
Two-time Selections: Six players are repeat first-team selections from last year.
No Tiebreaker: There was a tie for the fifth offensive lineman for both first and second teams, so each team is represented with six offensive linemen. There was a tie for the third linebacker spot on second team.

</figure>Birmingham, Ala. -- Southeastern Conference champion Alabama claimed five of the SEC's seven individual football awards as voted on by the league's head coaches, it was announced Wednesday.

Alabama's Jalen Hurts was named SEC Offensive Player of the Year and SEC Freshman of the Year, while teammate Jonathan Allen was named Defensive Player of the Year. Auburn's Daniel Carlson was voted Special Teams Player of the Year and Arkansas' Brooks Ellis was selected as Scholar-Athlete of the Year. Alabama's Cam Robinson was named winner of the Jacobs Blocking Trophy, while Alabama coach Nick Saban was named SEC Coach of the Year.

This is the second consecutive season in which the Crimson Tide claimed both the offensive and defensive player of the year awards.

Hurts has started the last 12 games for Alabama and has helped lead his team to a 13-0 record. He has thrown for 2,563 yards and 21 touchdowns this season, while rushing for 841 yards and 12 scores. The Crimson Tide leads the SEC in scoring offense and total offensive yards.

Allen has been a key component of a unit ranked No. 1 in total defense, rushing defense and scoring defense. He leads the team with 15 quarterback hurries and is tied for the team lead in sacks. Allen is ranked second on the school's all-time career sacks list.

Carlson is the SEC's leader in scoring and has connected on 26-of-30 field goal attempts this season. He tied an SEC record with six field goals made in Auburn's win over LSU earlier this season. Carlson is a finalist for the Lou Groza Award, which honors the nation's best kicker.

Ellis became the first Arkansas football student-athlete to earn Academic All-America honors twice in a career. He carries a 3.82 GPA in pre-professional exercise science and was named a National Scholar-Athlete and one of 12 finalists for the William V. Campbell Trophy. Ellis has registered a team-best 78 tackles and a team-leading 7.0 tackles for loss this season.

Robinson has started all 13 games for the Crimson Tide and has helped pave the way for a rushing attack ranked second in the SEC with 245 yards per game. The Alabama offensive line is among three finalists for the Joe Moore Award, given to the top offensive line in college football.

Saban led Alabama to its 26th SEC title and the No. 1 seed in the College Football Playoff. Now in his 10th season in Tuscaloosa, Saban has guided Alabama to double-digit victories for the ninth consecutive year. The Crimson Tide enters the College Football Playoff on a 25-game winning streak.

Coaches were not permitted to vote for their own players.

The SEC All-Freshman Team will be announced Thursday.

Sun Belt Conference

NEW ORLEANS – The Sun Belt Conference announced Wednesday its Football All-Conference teams and individual awards, chosen by the 11 head coaches and select media representatives.

Highlighting the list is Arkansas State junior defensive lineman Ja’Von Rolland-Jones who was named the league’s Player of the Year.

Appalachian State sophomore running back Jalin Moore was tabbed as the Offensive Player of the Year, while Troy senior defensive lineman Rashad Dillard was chosen as the league’s Defensive Player of the Year.

App State defensive back Clifton Duck was selected as the Freshman of the Year and Aikeem Coleman, a junior defensive lineman from Idaho, was tabbed as the league’s Newcomer of the Year.

Idaho’s Paul Petrino was chosen as the Coach of the Year.

Rolland-Jones tied for second in sacks in the Sun Belt with 11.5 and tied for first in tackles for loss with 18.5. During league play Rolland-Jones was credited with 9.5 sacks and 16.5 tackles for loss as he helped guide the Red Wolves squad to a 7-1 record in league play and a share of the Sun Belt championship.
Earlier this season he became the Sun Belt's all-time leader in career sacks with 28.5 and will have a chance to add to that total in A-State's bowl game later this month.

Moore led the Sun Belt with 1,367 yards rushing on 221 attempts for a league-leading 6.2 average. His 113.9 yards per game on the ground is also tops in the league. He racked up 974 of his 1,367 yards in league play where he scored eight of his 10 touchdowns. Moore’s per game average increased to 120.2 in those eight contests that saw the Mountaineers go 7-1 to claim a share of the Sun Belt title with A-State.
His 10 rushing touchdowns are second in the Sun Belt and all came in the final nine games and finished tied for third in the Sun Belt among non-kickers with 60 points. He totaled 100 or more yards on 17 or fewer carries in six games this season as the Mountaineer rushing attack led the league with 262.5 yards per game.

Dillard finished the regular season with 36 tackles, 13.5 of them for a loss and 7.5 sacks. His sack total was good for fifth overall in the league. The unquestioned leader on a Troy defense that ranked first in the Sun Belt in rushing defense and first in turnovers forced, added eight quarterback hurries this season and added a fumble recovery and an interception.

App State's Duck was tied for second in the league and first among freshman with five interceptions in 2016. He returned one of those back for a touchdown against eight-win Idaho and leads the league in passes defensed with 13. Duck started every game at corner as a true freshman on the Sun Belt’s top defense and finished fourth on the team with 54 tackles, 41 of them solo.

Idaho's Coleman was named the league's Newcomer of the Year in 2016. Coleman came to the Vandals from East Mississippi Junior College and has made an immediate impact for the Idaho program. He led the Vandals with 11 tackles for loss and eight sacks on the season. He also added seven quarterback hurries, two pass breakups, a forced fumble and a fumble recovery.

Coleman’s head coach, Paul Petrino, earned his first Sun Belt Coach of the Year honor after guiding the Vandals to their first bowl appearance since 2009. Petrino’s Vandals went 8-4 (6-2 in league play), this season, doubling the amount of wins they had last season. The Vandals closed out the regular season on a four-game winning streak and have lost just one of their final seven contests. Idaho takes on Colorado State in the Famous Idaho Potato Bowl on Dec. 22.

App State (9-3, 7-1 Sun Belt) placed a conference high of 12 student-athletes on the first-team and second-team combined. The Mountaineers will face Toledo on Saturday, Dec. 17 in the Raycom Media Camellia Bowl. Kickoff is slated for 4:30 p.m. (CT) from the Cramton Bowl in Montgomery, Ala. and the game will air on ESPN.

The Red Wolves (7-5, 7-1 Sun Belt) placed 11 student-athletes on the first-team and second-team combined while Troy placed 10 combined on both teams. A-State faces UCF on Saturday, Dec. 17 in the AutoNation Cure Bowl scheduled for 4:30 p.m. (CT) from Camping World Stadium in Orlando.

Troy (9-3, 6-2 Sun Belt) will head to Mobile, Alabama for the Dollar General Bowl on Friday, Dec. 23 at 7:00 p.m. (CT).

Louisiana (6-6, 5-3 Sun Belt) and South Alabama (6-6, 2-6 Sun Belt) are the two other bowl participants in 2016 as the Ragin' Cajuns will make the trip down I-10 to the R+L Carriers New Orleans Bowl on Saturday, Dec. 17 at 8:00 p.m. (CT). USA will head west to Arizona to take on Air Force in the NOVA Home Loans Arizona Bowl on Friday, Dec. 30 at 4:30 p.m. (CT).

Six Sun Belt Conference football programs accepted bowl invitations on Sunday – a new record number for the conference.

I can't imagine another conf that can come close to touching that 1st team ACC offense. I'd prob swap Leggett and Hikutini at TE and would want Ford over Switzer - just if I were putting together a school yard team.

Peppers winning DPOY is pretty silly. Look at his defensive numbers and without the brand name recognition I don't know how he even gets all conf. I think he is a tremendous athlete and will make a fine pro but compare his numbers to Tegray Scales, as just one example, and it really makes you wonder how much football many of these voters for numerous awards actually watch..

I'm generally terrible at individual player evaluation. I always learn more from what I read here!

We all know who the key players typically all on most teams I would think, or the teams that we care most about atleast. It's hard to know who the better OL are in any given conference I think unless you follow that conference very closely. I don't follow anyone that closely so there is always something I can pick up from seeing who other people value most at certain positions. And it can come in handy for bowl time with suspensions and injuries, we can look quickly and see if this is a somebody who will be missed or more of a role player. At least that is how I do it sometimes.

I put up the Big Ten Offensive players that came out today.

Funny thing on Peppers, I was chatting with a Michigan fan before the OSU game and I asked if he thought Peppers was even the best player on that defense...I had a couple players in mind I thought might be as good, or as important, but his reply was "not only the best player on Michigan's team, the best player in the country". Yawn. I think Peppers is likely worthy of first team Big Ten, but I don't think he is among the best in the nation as in All American, but something tells me his name will be on that list too.

On that 1st team ACC offense, I know they have Henderson as a specialist first teamer, but he brings a unique ability to Pitt's offense, if we weren't looking at pure receiving ability and broadened to runs from scrimmage Henderson should really be more than just an honorable mention player I think, I mean atleast 3rd team if not 2nd in my eyes. Big play potential whenever he touches the ball.

Updated the lists. Still waiting for Big XII, CUSA, SEC, Sun Belt.

I believe the writers do everything they can to make their postseason lists look just like their preseason lists, so we can all see how smart they are

I think the only thing not posted is the SEC Freshman Team which isn't out yet. These TV Networks like to roll things out over the course of days. Big Ten Net did it too. Got to create programming for their stations!

Somebody can post National All Americans if they want. I think that is out now.

I wanted to document all the all-conference players here in one place. I will likely come back to it next summer to review who is gone and who is back.

Thanks for putting this all together s--k. On the SEC list, I'm not sure Cam Robinson was the best OL on our team, much less all-SEC. And Ryan Anderson not being on there shows how little these SIDs pay attention

Absolutely agree.

that being said, put the ACC offense with the SEC defense and look out
