Hey Gurv talk to me about Pitt's linebackers, read an interesting observation postgame from NC State game I believe to be true ---
USF's offense is one that requires an especially strong performance from the linebackers to slowdown. Alot of what they do spreading you out with the zone read plays, ala extended quick handoff sweep type plays or qb runs or draws require solid lb play.
They got McKillop he's a stud I know. I'm liking the points here, Pitt has the talent to take this to the wire. Seems to me they play down to their level of competition. Killed me on Cuse but I know they turned it on on in the 4th to dominate like they should in that quarter. I know Cuse had a td return in the first quarter which sometimes I consider as a stat or score skewer, pitt D didn't play too bad the Offense did. ---Thought Pitt would play better considering Cuse upset them last year, and if Pitt "did not show up" then they cover vs. USF.
What I was hearing from the Cuse game is Stull wasn't doing much. Checked Last years game vs. USF and Bostick put 298 up in the air. Pitt led that game 14-10 at halftime, but 3 picks by Bostick in the 2nd half led to 21 USF points. Some confidence their Pitt can put it in the air. Really, though, Pitt didn't run it on USF last year much.
Pitt's defense is going to have to come through.
----I really was impressed with the Iowa performance. Lot of energy and intensity in that game, hell of a game to watch. I think Iowa is a solid football team.
Pitt has the talent and their not great any one area just kind of solid all the way around. If they have that same intensity vs. Iowa, boy 2 TD's is alot of points.
