Nothing to cap.....just thought I would ramble on about anything Hawaii related today...this post is irrelevent in every way related to capping.......for my personal entertainment only......feel free to stop reading here and move on.....if you are easily offended and immature, move on....if you are open to opinions and others' thoughts, feel free to throw in your two cents......
- "Wariors, come out to play....." Problem is Hawaii has only 9 games next year, and no BCS Team in their right mind would play a Lose - Lose game with Hawaii.....2007 will be a troubled weak ass schedule......all their big rival games are at HOME against Boise and Fresno.....Hawaii will most likely run the table next year....
- Stop calling Hawaii's Offense the "Run and Shoot". The man who created the "Run and Shoot" 30 years ago is the Assistant Coach on Hawaii, Mouse Davis. THE FRICKING CREATOR OF THE RUN AND SHOOT DOESN'T EVEN CALL IT THE RUN AND SHOOT ANYMORE. Steve Spurrier, Urban Meyer, Tiller, Texas Tech all learned their offense from this guy. Hawaii runs the Spread.....Hawaii rushed for over 1,600 yards with their 6,000 yards passing.....a true run and shoot, you wont see rushing yards......
- ASU's fired Coach Koetter showed why he was fired against Hawaii. Besides the fact he killed his team before the season even started (with his wishy washy QB decisions), who the hell would punt with 4 minutes left in the game down by 10? It's a Bowl Game, all or nothing....what happens if they don't make it? Are they going to fire him again?
He is unable to make the BIG decisions.....
- Hawaii hardly ever punted the entire season, led the nation in LEAST punts, just 17. June Jones rarely gives scholarships to Punters, yet he gave one this year..... And to think, our Punter/Place holder killed us early on with 4 muffed snaps against Boise and Alabama. Our scholarship punter cost us at minimum the TIE in both of those games.....and was never seen again on place holding, and just made 10 more punts for the rest of the year....
- Besides that punter costing us games, Hawaii suffered only one loss I feel they really got beat.....Oregon State......watch out for them....they will be Top 10 next year......
- Whether you love or hate Hawaii.... give them credit, they are acheiving a lot with little... Hawaii's roster is almost entirely 1-2-3 Star Rivals.com recruits. Yet, they have 8 potential NFL players on the radar and showed they can compete with BCS teams..... Unlike say Texas or USC, which will get five+ 5 Star Rivals.com recruits a year, Hawaii has gotten only ONE in their ENTIRE history, and he happens to be the St. Louis Rams Team Captain (Pisa Tinoisamoa)....
- For those that bashed at the beginning of the season when i said Hawaii would be really good after last year's 5-7 season, feel free to come forward....
- Hawaii's success is leading to great recruits..... Hawaii has already picked up JUCO All-Americans at Safety, Defensive End, and Tackle, and a stud running back. Hawaii has addressed all their graduation losses (Hawaii was a Young team to begin with). Even if Brennan goes to the NFL, Hawaii has a REALLY good second string QB. Hawaii returns ALL of their receivers....Nearly the entire defense returns....Hawaii will be more experienced and even faster next year.....
- Check my post history, NOT ONCE did I say Colt Brennan is an NFL QB. However, I said at the beginning of the year he is the Best QB i have seen in COLLEGE football. For those that doubted that statement, he ended up throwing for 58 TD's at an unheard of efficency rating, not even Klinger did that. Throwing for a lot of TDs is one thing, but to do it with a QB rating of 186.00??????? He beat both Klinger in TD's and Shaun King in QB Rating, an impossible feat.....He is UNCANNY accurate.........One or both records may fall, but BOTH records by the same QB in the same season will NEVER fall, I really don't think most people realize this......we saw a historical record breaking season that may never be broken....
- People always ask me, so is Brennan an NFL QB?.....all I can say is.....Andre Ware and David Klinger.....unreal College QB's who flopped in the NFL.......Brennan is way more accurate than both, so he should make it.......but let's not get stupid with unrealistic expectations......
- Throughout the season, I read the Message Boards of all the teams that play Hawaii......just to gauge their attitude or to pick up tidbits of information.....In all my travels to opposing teams' Message Boards, I have concluded that nothing beats these 14 pages found in the Hawaii Warrior Message Board.
