Okay, so here it is. I have once again done some extensive research over the past couple of weeks and am ready to start this off now that the 2nd Half starts today. Here we go. 3 Unders, 3 Overs and so on for each team and when we get to 5 wins, due to the 25-30 game schedule left for each team, we stop. Units are going to be a little weird, but it will help to keep with my $$$ equivalent. The goal is 195 Units.

The Overs come on the 4th, 5th and 6th games of the teams. So basically, it is 3 Unders, 3 Overs, 3 Unders and so on. Don't worry, I'll be alright.

sure thing tbone. At first, I tried to alternate with the Unders and Overs thinking that there was no way that a team could have 8-10 consecutive opposite over/unders, but there was a team that did just that earlier in the year. I then changed to three unders, three overs, three unders, three overs and so on. This method is to eliminate the chances of a team going on a flip flop streak, with the downside however of a team having 1/3/3/?? of the opposite or even 2/3/3/??. I went back to the beginning of the basketball season with the goal of winning 10 times before the All-Star break. The most troublesome team was Detroit which took 33 games to give me 10 wins while two times risking 21.4 Units to win a net of 1 Unit. On the otherhand, Orlando had me risking 416.08 Units to net 1 Unit, but only took me 22 games to win 10 Units overall. The team that was the nicest was Boston which took 13 games to give me 10 Units. Also, I forgot to mention that my starting Units for this is 800 Units.

hey, thanks for the explanation. the reason i asked is because when i first started betting many years ago, i got "hooked" into a chase system for the nba too. however, it would produce short term profits, and long term losses once one team ran off 10+ straight covers/losses ats. i soon found out this happens more often than you would expect, and i had compiled ~5 years of data. in conclusion, i firmly believe chase systems can't and won't work long term. however, on the flip side of that, if you played the opposite plays of a chase system, once a long "abnormal" streak hits, you'd be up a decent chunk of change....

thanks for your insights, tbone. I do agree that chase systems are risky, and as you can see according to my records that i have seen the positives and negatives of them, but I always like to try new things and even researching bets are not guaranteed either. so far so good...i keep my system simple, playing the over on 2 teams who have at least a day of rest.

nba players nowaday are shit. they are clueless about playing defense, hotdogging and show boating. i missed the detroit basketball, MJ bulls, nyk bricks and the gangs.

let's see how my system plays out until the playoffs.

btw...
Over the years, i make the most $ by playing on the Under. Pick a few good dfensive teams and ride them until week 17. in the nfl, defensive players are smarter and more consistent. i'd rather watching a good match b/w 2 good dfensive teams than the offensive teams. smash-mouth fball, baby.... loving it!

some devil's advocate questions for ya'. how long will you continue a chase for or is there a max unit size bet? isn't it possible you will have to take a huge loss somewhere if only 1 team goes on a weird fluky ATS O/U streak? 2 teams have 0 wins. thus, isn't it possible that not all teams will reach the expected 5 wins?

I hate giving this answer, but "of course, anything is possible". When I first started my research, I wanted to go 10 wins per team. Being that I started in the 2nd half and knowing how long a couple chases took, I would prefer to win 5 and feel more comfortable than risk the 10 that I was originally looking for. Also, the two teams that have 0 wins are Miami 0-2-1 and Oklahoma City 0-3-0. I know this won't last and am not worried.
