Back by popular demand!

You all had to deal with the SEMCON boys from 2006-2014 in the MLB forum. Frankly, you've missed us.

Understandably.

I've been waiting to fire this thread up. I wanted to see if we could actually survive an April for once.

Mission accomplished.

The Tigers stand at 18-13 overall with a +10 differential.

Amazingly, they have been great on the road (10-4) while a bit disappointing at home.

This next week brings a few big series that will help gauge where we are.

This weekend is a trip to the Bronx. Following that series, a huge division clash down in Cleveland.

The pitching has been damn good. The hitting? Yikes.

The bats are 22nd in average right now. They basically rank in the bottom 1/3 of most offensive categories.

Back to the pitching --

#4 in ERA at 3.12 as a staff

#4 in runs given up

#4 in hits given up.

Long balls have been somewhat of an issue.

They are 26th in fielding as well.

Remarkable job by the pitching staff overcoming the hitting and suss play in the field.

HOPEFULLY, we can somehow get the bats going and become a mid tier team in that regard.

With that being said, we're going to enjoy this summer of baseball in the D. This should be a fringe playoff contender. I'll be sweating out the RSW all summer and have fun doing it!

Any tips on preferred pitchers to face? Lefties, righties, high velocity, what do Detroit batters like to see? I wanna know when to bet on the Tigers so I can root for the Tigers with all our Michigan guys!

.251 vs Lefties
.221 vs Eighties

Sample size is approximately 80/20 though (right to left)

.254 with runners in scoring position (less than 2 outs).

That seems to be when they make hay. Opportunistic so far.

.212 with bases empty.

Detroit is a good team nd right now their starting pitching is better than Clevalnads.

In that series coming up pitching will determine who is winning. If Carrasco starts thats a win Detroit .

Only Bibee is still good for Cle. McKenzie is on or off still.
All the other starters are average at best.

I wish you the best of luck. Even if Mize holds for 5 and 2/3s our bullpen is about as stout as a paper bag. Regardless of stats showing inside top 10. Detroit is in line with my parameters but I tend to stay away from them against the yanks

Who had the AL Central with 4 good teams? Not me. Guess it helps everyone gets the White Sox 12-15 times.

With this week's game, Detroit is the only one to only have one series in the books vs the Sox.

1-0 ten inning loss tonight.

Disappointing.

The loss Sunday was nice though. Some vintage JV in his best game back at CoPa since leaving.

Man we need some bats.

Embarrassing stretch right now.

18-13 at one point.

Now on a 5-14 run.

First there was no run support, and now simply cannot get outs.

Frustrating.

We might need to do the same thing with Corbin.

Love these new 8+ year deals where you aren't sacrificing much by sending a star down for a couple weeks. Hitting coaches in the minors are way more tailored to improving a player than the majors where every game has your job security on the line.
