If you remember, we only had 10 teams last season, but we already have some candidates in the other thread to get this back up to 12 as in the past. Have sent out invites to all the teams that were in this league last year to the email addresses listed on yahoo.

I have tentatively set the draft date and time for Wednesday night, March 30, 9:30 pm EST. Let me know if that time doesn't work, we can try to settle on one that works for everyone.

Here's who is in or might be in, confirm in this thread if haven't already in the other thread, I'll keep track in this post. And remember to also join the league on yahoo in response to the email you should have received. (And let me know if you don't want to be in this year so we can find a replacement.)

One topic up for discussion/vote is whether to go to a FAAB auction system rather than a revolving first-come-first-serve waiver wire with up to five adds per week. I do the FAAB in another league on CBS and I prefer it, but I'm not sure how it works on yahoo or in a HTH league so you'll have to educate me if we go that route. In that other league, we have a budget of $90 before the ASB and $70 after the ASB (first half dollars don't carry over), and we bid on players once a week on Sunday nights. But that is a season-long roto format, and I think daily pick-ups suits HTH a little better, so tell me what you think.

So far I think we have Hbomb for and aplous against, I'm a little undecided.

Here are the current league settings, let me know if anything else might need a tweak.

12-team, weekly HTH, top six make the playoffs. $100 buy-in, 1st place = $600, 2nd place = $300, 3rd place = $100, regular season 1st place = $200. In the past, we have paid before the season and used leaguesafe with smoke as the keymaster, and that has worked well so let's do that again.

Unfortunately i have to decline now.. I'm on vacation and wont be able to draft. I was going to have a buddy of mine draft for me but he is unavailable as well. I'm sorry guys. HOpefully you get it full. If the draft date were to change i'd likely be in...
 
Smoke and nugzz, what are some dates that work better for you? Is that whole week bad?

OK, we're back to 3/30 (tentatively), Nugzz has let me know he's out either way. So we're back to looking for one more OR pleading with Smokey to return OR maybe in need of both depending on a few others returning. CTG-1ers can feel free to recruit.

Smoke, if 3/30 is bad, let me know a date that works.
 
different scoring (OBP & TB instead of AVG & HR) Problem is Ive been doing the other league with a couple friends not on CTG for 7-8 years so dont want to bail on them - I invited CTG members to keep that one alive haha.

Canes1 has asked into the league, welcome!

We tentatively now have 12, but have not heard from gorgy, teed, wreck, or compton ballers this season. But I haven't really reached out either, will pm or stalk them in threads in the near future. Don't think compton ballers is CTG, think I have his e-mail, or maybe law can track him down. smoke and renew are maybes if any of those guys are out. Also, remember to confirm on yahoo to fill the league if you haven't already.

Tentative draft date remains Wednesday night, March 30, unless someone squawks. Will randomly generate the draft order using yahoo once all the teams are confirmed.

Not exactly sure, it's whatever yahoo's default setting is. Has always seemed very generous. For instance, I believe David Ortiz has never not been eligible at 1B.
 
Yeah, he never caught last year, and not much or at all the year before. yahoo's generous, but you need an inning or something. So now he's a .200 1B with limited pop. Save him for me in the last round, I do love my Wahoos.

Gorgy has told me he's probably in. No word from wreck. Ideally, gorgy, wreck, and either smoke/renew gets us to 12, but feel free to join the league or recruit and fill the league.

Tentative draft date remains Wednesday night, March 30. Will randomly generate the draft order using yahoo once all the teams are confirmed.
 
think we should combine the two CTG leagues to get 12 (or i'd really be down for a monster league too)

Received a PM from Productive Human, a CTG lurker with zero posts. He wants in, he's in. If gorgy is in, we're up to 11. No word from wreck yet. I feel confident we will fill this thing.
 
We'll do 10 if we must, but I think we'd all prefer 12. 10 last year didn't feel quite right.
 
Didn't anticipate defections from smoke and wreck, think they're charter members. This commish stuff is tough.
 
I'm with Tip. I would do 10, even though I prefer 12. Maybe we need to unite the 2 CTG leagues...
 
We're almost there. We're at 10 confirmed as we speak, two weeks to go, four maybes. We'll get there. Fantasy sports is an important decision.
 
so it looks like CTG2 is going to be short.

I'll do CTG1 but just wanted to check on any rule changes from last year and should I expect to "randonly" be picked 8th for the draft 4 years in a row?

Only rule change being discussed is going to FAAB rather than the first-come-first-serve waiver wire, although it hasn't been discussed much yet. And no one's rooting harder than I am for you to get a lofty draft spot.

gorgy has said "probably in", but haven't heard lately. renew has expressed interest. smoke is probably wishful thinking on my part (and he used to handle the leaguesafe thing, dammit)

Anyway, I'll reach out to those guys. If you're just stumbling into this thread, feel free to join the league (by posting in the thread or pm me). If you're in the league, feel free to recruit in or out of CTG as long as his money is good and green. If you're a member of another league that hasn't filled, I don't mean to poach, but ...

Would like to fill the league on yahoo, get payments going to leaguesafe after that, draft order after that, and if any time left, discuss any changes to free agent system. (Waiver wire is the incumbent.)

Will do the draft order tonight. Feel free to chime in on your free agent process preference. League's always been waivers, solid movement is in favor of FAAB.
 
Leaguesafe invites to pay have been sent to all at the addresses listed on the yahoo league site. I set a payment deadline of two weeks from today, but sooner the better. Takes a few clicks of the mouse, fast pay makes fast friends.

Wreck, I need your address. (That's why leaguesafe shows only 11 teams at the moment, didn't have wreck's e-mail.)

Next up, the draft order. Stay tuned!
 
As it turns out, I think yahoo shitcanned its random draft order generator (which wreck hated). So wreck, I also need your e-mail address for that fantasy toolbox one, or whatever that site is that has the draft order generator. In addition to needing it for leaguesafe. So let me know. Thanks man.
 
In the meantime, I think we're at 2-1 in FAAB's favor in the FAAB v. waivers decision. I haven't voted yet. Any other strong opinions/stances/votes on this matter?
 
Good news, after hunting around, yahoo still has its random generator. Had to "finalize" the teams first. Here goes (please give wreck the #1 pick, please give wreck the #1 pick ...)
