Trying to find some numbers of Kidd's production when Carter was out last year and I was very surprised to find that Vince didn't miss 1 game last year. Vince Carter played 82 games!? So i went to 05-06 and found that Kidd averaged 16.5 ppg when Vince was either out or played less the 20 mins due to injury. His assists were not that affected by Carters absence as he averaged 8 apg when Carter was out and averaged 8.4 apg on the year. I'm giving Kidd 16+8=24assits+points tonight.

Chris Paul is off to hot start this year. His scoring has been remarkably consistent this year 19 15 19 18 18 16. He is averaging 3 less points on the road then at home (probably doesn't mean that much because its coming from such a small sample.) He is averaging 11 assists per game but that is including that freak of an assist game at LAL when he had 21 helpers. Since that game isn't a good indicator of future performance I'll throw that game away and give him 10 instead and he is averaging 9 assists/game which is probably close to what he'll average on the season. Jason Kidd is one of the better perimeter defenders (or at least use to be) in the league. I'm gonna give Paul 17points and 9 assists= 26assists+points.

Play
Jason Kidd +4.5 pts+ass vs. Chris Paul

may add Kings +14 later

All looked good going into the 4th yesterday when Paul exploded for a season high on me. He really took over in the 4th when the Nets built a good lead. He is great player.

For Tuesday

Charlotte -1.5 (-105) 1u (greek)
Memphis +7 (-110) 1u (bodog)

Charlotte has beat Miami straight up in the last 3 meetings including earlier this year IN Miami. With no Wade and an uninspired Shaq, this Miami team is bottom of the barrel in the NBA. It is hard to even watch Shaq play this year, kinda sad. He just doesn't seem to care. He is only getting 7.5 rebounds a game. He had 3 the other night against SA. How do you only get 3 rebounds when your over 7 feet tall and you sit under the basket. That just screams 'i don't give a shit'. Not having Wade there has really hurt him and I am beginning to think that maybe some of the off the court issues in the off-season are still in his head. I'll take the home team on a short number.

Houston is a great team this year, but they haven't been overly impressive on the road. They lost to Dallas straight up which was expected and beat a good Utah team which was impressive. But they only beat LAL by 2 and Charlotte by 3. Now i'm not that good at understanding when a team is going to be tired from flying here or there, but i gotta think that Memphis on a couple days rest after a west coast road trip is going to be feeling pretty good about being home. Memphis played SA real tough at home earlier this year only losing by 3. Hoping for that same effort from Memphis tonight. I'll take the home team and the 7 Points.

today:
Don't have time for lengthy write-ups

Denver -10 (-110) 1u (greek)
Utah -1.5 (-110) 1u (greek)

Lookin for a letdown from Portland on a back to back after winning 4 in a row at home.

Just think Utah and Toronto are in two different classes. Love what I've seen from Utah this year. Toronto has lost to every good team that has visited the Air Canada Centre (Boston, Orlando). Utah has won the past 4 meetings including 2 in Toronto, all by more then 1.5 points.

Boston Over 181.5 (-110) 2 units (greek)

Boston has passed the century mark in every game but 1 when they scored 98. They posted 112 on NJ last week and there is no reason to believe they get less then 100 this time. All I need is Jefferson and company to get 80. Boston hasn't held anyone under 80 all year.

New York is in the middle of a 4 game west cost trip. This team is in shambles. They have already lost the first 2 of this trip and now they are going to be without their best player, Randolph. The kings are back home after a short road trip and get Ron Artest back. I capped this game at -2' thinking that Randolph was playing and forgetting that Artest was back. Now thinking this line should be more like -5'.

Sacramento -2.5 (-105) 1u (sportsbook)

GL Slug. Need to see some more of the Kings with Artest. I can certainly understand fading the Knicks.

Kings game was fun. Saturday's card is pretty ugly. Nothing jumps out at me right now. Little lean on Dallas, but i hate laying that many. May add something tomorrow or just get involved at halftime if I see something I like. Good luck to everyone on tomorrows games.
