NHL Off-season Thread

Will the Blackhawks trade or keep Alex DeBrincat?

Blackhawks GM Kyle Davidson has made it clear the club is committed to a full rebuild. No more half-measured approaches to getting younger, no more splashy win-now acquisitions like Seth Jones and Marc-Andre Fleury — it’s all about the future in Chicago.

A complete teardown is unequivocally the correct course of action, but the task is daunting and will require years of pain. The Blackhawks’ current roster lacks promising young talent, their prospect pool was ranked 25th in the league by colleague Scott Wheeler this year and the club is already without its first-round pick in June because of a poorly timed trade for Jones. It’s likely going to be a long time before we see Chicago emerge from the NHL’s basement.

Bears mess it up for chicago, csnt count baseball since there is two

The red and black is an awesome scheme too, bulls and hawks both top 5 in their leagues

Sox are prolly top 5 too, especially the hat
I don’t have the sales numbers but from the eye test in NY the Bulls logo is the best selling followed by Yankees

The rumored Kakko and Chytil to Winnipeg for Pierre Luc Dubois is such a Rangers type of deal that I expect it to happen.

Detroit has their coach. Stevie plucking from his old team.

Dr Evil in the house.

This is the time for Yzerman to take advantage of the Rangers as he did when he got McDonagh and JT Miller for a mostly pile of garbage. He should be the guy to target Kappo Kakko and if you have a Ryan Reaves type of veteran tough guy Chris Drury will do the deal.

Amazing how Tampa smartly dumps a terrible contract while the Rangers seemingly have no interest in getting rid of Trouba but instead are looking to get rid of Chytil and Kakko. Great example of why one organization continuously wins titles while the other has won one Cup over the last 82 years. I thought Tampa might slide after Yzerman left but Brisebois seems like a very competent replacement.

First draft in forever where 1OA isnt 100% known day before draft

Most expect Wright. But this Czech kid may actually be a Jagr clone

Rumors of sens and habs deal around anderson and Dvorak to Ottawa for 7th overall pick

Seravelli says Klingberg told Dallas hes going to UFA

Hextall saying Letang deal almost done to be back in Pitt, Hope's to work on Malkin when done

Also a ton of Matthew Tkachuk rumors today

Calgary is in an interesting spot

They finished 4th in league in regular season, then lost to Oilers

But Gaudreau is a UFA, and there have been rumors hes wanted to go back near home for awhile, would be Philly, but theres a bunch in that area. Hes gonna want a massive deal too, and while he was great last year, he wasn't the two years prior, and hes a small winger.

I think hes gone from Calgary

Tkachuk has the flames by the balls, hes an RFA, can force a 1 year deal and then be a UFA next summer. Flames cant lose both for nothing, tkachuk also had an incredible year he will never match, so his value is sky high, and hes a shitty skater, hes not gonna age well

Ottawa gets DeBrincat and Chicago gets a bag of hockey tape

Honestly this is a player you can build a franchise around, the Hawks CANNOT miss in this draft
