Flirted with taking the whole day off. Cleared calendar for the afternoon instead. Can’t fucking wait.
 
Watching MLB Network and Xavier Scruggs says Juan Soto is his X-factor for the NL. Dude is +550 fave to win the NL MVP. Lol.

Yep. Only thing probably worth watching anymore is MLB tonight with Amsinger, Reynolds, Plesac or Pedro. Who was that woman Santos today blabbering about the AL central? Brutal.
 
Only took one batter to see effect of new rules. Acuna gets on base, draws 2 throws then basically gets a free steal! Didn’t result in a run because guys still not interested in taking good AB’s and moving a guy over. Still you would think a extra few steals and then a extra hit at right time leads to a extra run.

9 k’s now! Out of 13 batters, we did get the 2nd steal of year already in between tho! All The action of strikeouts and free steals is making me love baseball even more, genius!!

Then a steal in no time. All we needed was one of Braves to hit it where the shift used to be and woulda been a perfect start!!

I was looking at stolen base props this morning and there some pretty fat odds on guys stealing a base, the problem is I have little clue who gonna be running? I suppose could just grab couple guys at top of every lineup and see what happens? Something tells me those prices are going to be going down quickly! Problem is gotta find guy who gets on base to do it, im not so good at that! Lol
 
I guess the cool thing bout the 1st 3 inning bet is you don’t have much time to be pissed off, gonna take less than 45 min to lose! No sense dragging out, lol
 
Volpe walks, never heard of this kid but read a lot this morning bout him being rookie of the year. That a pretty good lineup if yanks have rookie of year hitting 9th
 
Holy shit, webb has only fanned 7 of his 9 outs. That 15 k’s in 3 innings of baseball baby! 3 outs off contact, if this the norm then we def need to speed shit up!!

Or start betting steal props! I didn’t look super close I was just browsing them but for most part it seemed like they were at least double the odds of home runs. There only 4 guys up for tigers/rays, are they adjusting them already? lol

They are bigger, I never remember that one, i suppose that helps also. The big thing is pitchers can only throw to the base 2x per a at bat, after that if they throw over and don’t pick runner off it a balk. So 1st batter I saw drew a couple throws than bang he was gone.
 
I think it per at bat? Surely it resets after a out right? It not the entire time guy at 1st you only get 2 pick offs right?

That the biggest I think, also there a pitch clock, not exactly sure how the rules work far as penalties but hitter only has so long to get into box and pitcher only has so long to throw pitch (which you would think runners could also time better!).

No more shifting, have to have 2 defenders on both sides of 2nd and gotta be in dirt, can’t be in outfield grass, I suppose they can play in, pretty sure? Lol.

Those the biggest ones.

I think I heard some in spring training working around the shift rule by bringing in an OF to the IF. Not 100% sure and didn’t see it

Unless they dramatically changed their lineup im not sure they got guys who can get on base, they def don’t have enough guys where they can get one on, steal, then get another hit that not a home run. I don’t think weather at wrigley is very conducive to home runs today, that only way they could get offense last year.

Me neither but I suppose that could work far as taking a single away from lefties but you leaving a awful big gap over your head in outfield no?

Sure but I guess if pull hitters refuse to go the other way then why not. I doubt we see this happen during the season but who knows
