Lyles gets the ball tonight

a very uninspired Indians team, combined by a good effort from Lyles and we win 7-2 our record now stands at 60-101

Lyles threw 99 pitches over his 7.0 innings giving up two hits one run which was earned walked one struck out eight and gave up no HRs

Calhoun 1-5 drove in one as he hit his sixth HR
Heim 1-3 drove in three as he hit a three run shot his 10th of the season
Ibanez 1-3 drove in one
Culberson 1-2 drove in two

struck out five times and went 3-6 with RISP and left 6 on base

Lyles ended up with a 10-13 record and he becomes a FA, we need to sign him to be a leader for the kids
Will we screw it up most likely, let’s see how it plays out

Dunning gets the ball this afternoon as our season ends
Even though we sucked I’m sad that I must wait until spring training to write about them again
I will update any FA moves we make and hopefully some coaching changes

Thanks for reading this thread

Game 162:

quite a fitting way to end our season, we got shut out 6-0
our record was 60-102

Dunning went 3.0 innings gave up five hits four runs all of them earned walked one struck out three and gave up no HRs
Foltynewicz went two innings and gave up two runs both earned and of course he gave up a HR
this should be his last game as a Ranger, but with Daniels and our owners who knows

our 1-6 hitters went 1-18 our entire “offense” could only muster four hits
Solak 2-2 .242
Trevino 1-3 .239

we struck out seven times, went 0-5 with RISP and left five on base

a small positive note we do get the third pick in the 2022 draft
we were shut out 15 times this year which lead the AL the most since the 1983 season
our team has so many weak spots to fix in this off season
next year looks like a repeat of this year

will we sign a big name FA?
very highly unlikely

the fans are frustrated and until our leadership decides to spend some money we will suck and suck badly

this concludes my third year of reviewing every game and yes I’ll be back at next year
also for total transparency I have moved to Texas full time and will be at the entire spring training and attend every home game for the 2022 season
over the next few weeks I’ll tell y’all exactly why

stay safe and enjoy the playoffs
my money is on the Brewers at +750 to win it all
