February Discussion Thread

Bucks ml never in doubt
Need UGA to hold up their end of the bargain but I wouldn't have bee remotely surprised if Boston won, just was a pisser when I saw that on game cast at the end

Can't be any coincidence there was just a massive crack of thunder which we NEVER get til May/June/July at earliest

Boston scored first 5 of OT, and had ball. I flipped to college then.

Jrue hit some three's, finally got the job done.

HUGE for a potential tiebreaker.

I wonder if we about done seeing white point total below 20? He has taken at least 20 shots every game since brown been out.

Damn, sure wish I woulda looked early and got after that heat/nets total, it been beat down 7-8 points from open tho, can’t really make a play after that move! Really just crossed my mind how good nets should be defensively, I liked the pieces they got in both trades but hadn’t really looked at their lineup as a whole. Bridges and Finney-smith gotta be one the best wing defender duo’s in the league right? As good they should be defensively they have a whole bunch of inefficient shooters in that starting lineup and it doesn’t get a whole lot better when they go to the bench.

The huge downward move on total makes all the sense in the world just sucks didn’t see it sooner, lol. I could see these guys playing games way closer to 200 than we used to these days (remember back when nba had ton of totals below 200? Almost unfathomable now!), anyone noticed what kind of pace they playing at now? That would be only thing I suppose could shake it up, they look very capable of running a lot, actually I’d think it be in their best interest to get out on break as much as humanly possible cause their half court offense gonna be shaky at best.

Just something to think bout going forward, seems like it a given they gonna be in playoffs, that could be a incredibly low scoring series against anyone.

Jazz should basically be a autobet as dogs imo. They are covering machines when catching points and basically the opposite when they favs. Not like memphis is playing their best ball lately, is that really gonna change so close to the asb? If nba is way more about situation, mentality, and all kinds of other crap that has nothing to do with stats I feel like it much more likely memphis not gonna get their act fully in gear till after the break. They played and beat jazz by 5 last month in a game jazz won every qrtr besides the 2nd where grizz blasted them by 15 and just held on rest the way, don’t think Ja played, jazz are kinda different now but they have continued covering since the trade deadline having won 2 of 3 on this road trip and pushing the closing line in their loss to Knicks.

They moved jackson blocks up to 3.5 w plus money to the over. 0 blocks last game at Boston. “At” being the key word. At home he has 4+ blocks in 6 of last 8 I believe, 5 straight home games w 4+!

Assuming that means Myles sits again? And maybe Theis too.

I don’t see a block number for pacers Jackson which means they probably don’t know if those guys you mentioned are playing or not?

Since we on the subject of pacers, would them being out substantially weaken their interior d and rebounding? I know DeRozen out, I like to look at Vucevic points+boards cause he tends to get some those shots. Looks like they really pumped his points total up tho.

I think Jackson is a strong rim protector and he can grab double digit boards. But if both are out then they'd probably need to drag out Goga or put Jalen Smith in as a stretch 4 for at least 20 minutes. Neither of those guys are defensive stalwarts. The big one is Turner though, because Theis is just a guy on D as well.

Jackson has played 21+ minutes 8 times this season and in half of those games he had 4+ blocks, and in one he had 3. I'm hoping for lightning to strike since I just added him in my league.

maybe I’m crazy, I’m sure not worth listening to atm!! But feel like you could make 2-3-4 different sgp parlays w different guys in different categories in the spurs/cha game, between Charlotte going fast and no defense being played I could see all kinds of guys going over. Few spurs still feel undervalued since trade, the Williams kid playing center for cha and logging way more min now (long as no foul trouble) should have a field day, Mello trip dub only +550 cause feels like rebounds the only category you gotta worry bout, could be lot of those to go around tho?

I didn’t see a block total up for him when you brought up, havnt looked since but I will in couple hours before I go to casino. Seems to me it be really tough to make his higher than 2.5 considering where they been putting griz jaren Jackson who is crushing 4+ blocks every home game!

Lavine should have monster game tonight but dunno his points number off top my head either, I’ll certainly look tho:

Just realized you've been talking about JJJ while I was droning on about Isaiah. :biglaugh:

I even dedicated a post to telling you!! Lol. I’m not opposed to talking bout your guy either tho. I almost just said Triple J but wasn’t sure if that confuse anyone, I usually put jr on end, dunno why I didn’t today. I assume there probably 3-4 Jackson’s minimum, lol.

Maybe a Jimmy butler rebound game? Nets rebounding prob better now but should be a ton of missed shots If we to believe the fg%’s of most the Brooklyn team and the low total. Last rebounding prop I played Banchero had 1 fucking rebound so maybe not my strongest category, lol. Maybe it bout same as the rest?!?! How does a 6’10 athletic fuck get 1 rebound in 31 minutes? Cause I played his rebounds over, that how!!

Somebody or somebodies gotta be out for Utah right? Wtf going on w that line? 8.5 was more than enough to play jazz and now it -10?

I can see this bull shit coming already, Lavine on great pace to go over his points but bulls blowing pacers out and he won’t play enough minutes in 2nd half. How the Fuvk you supposed to figure on a 2.5 road dog who sucks totally blowing a team out cause they clearly decided not to give a flying fuck tonight?

That's the part that sucks. Big time.

seems like should be a big Ayton game vs flippers. Just recently Lopez killed them, loney went for like 11-15, claxton went 14 points 15 boards. If Ayton doesn’t go for 25-15 it cause he ain’t trying.

Bucks-7 kinda feels light, no damn way they lose focus one game from asb the way they playing, Celtics b squad taking them to ot outta give them that little extra push here. Bulls just let pacers score 75 2nd half points to lose a game they were up 39-15 after 1st! Doesn’t seem like anything complicated bout this, one team limping to the break losing 5 straight while the other is mostly rolling bad teams, bulls a bad team and in a bad spot where they just outmatched.

No idea really with wiz/wolves. Ayton over points + boards and bucks-7 feels like a solid way to go to break. Gotta start being more confident with what I see and playing it, not fishing around and confusing myself more than necessary. If I lose with either those 2 I can live with it, that gonna be my mentality going forward after the break. Fake it till I make it!

Sucks to lose but if you can justify the wager, it's not a bad bet. It just happened to not go your way. You know that.

The thing is more times than not lately I pass on one of 2 I know are right and end up playing 1 or 2 I dunno how the hell I got on. (Not even right as they necessarily cashed just cause they were solid plays, I know win/loss isn’t always the mark of if a play was good or bad). I just gotta quit with that shit, some days I just spend so much time on card I end up overwhelming myself and making poor decisions. That all I’m trying to say to myself, be confident and play the ones I believe in, if I lose playing those so be it. Not happy bout some the things I’ve passed on lately or some the things that ended up on my card and I really didn’t feel good about way before I knew the result:

I keep telling myself I think nets can be a legit good team, I don’t think they can beat a milw or Boston in a 7 game series, I don’t think they get swept by either tho and I think they could probably have a legit chance vs anyone else. I don’t think clevland or Philly should scare them in a series, think it kinda a coin flip. Then sone little asshoke who had a few good games and back to bench where he belongs can’t help but act like a selfish prick after the game. Why not be happy you have a 20 min important role on a team that could be pretty good? If you were a better player than the starters yiu be a starter, you not close!! That kid worthless.

We had more guys joining in discussions last season didn’t we? Cmon guys, let’s get this thread a little more active after the asb! Gotta keep ctg being the best place to look for things worth reading! Selfishly it helps me a great deal to talk this shit out and hear others points of views. It helps me just running my mouth and talking it out with myself to a extent, but it makes me look more sane if others involved! lol

We'll be down to nitty gritty time. Games will actually mean something. Should generate more.

Is everything playing for suns? (Besides kd obviously), mostly I mean booker. That line has flipped to clippers as favs, if booker playing I like suns but just riding w the Ayton prop.

Mann number was only freaking 9.5, didn’t really notice him till later in the day. He gonna go over that before half.

If Steff don’t play Thursday which I’d assume he not Poole should go over 25.5 points easy. Lakers can’t stop pg, I know they got better but Russell not exactly a lock down defender.

Post All-Star trend for a few Friday games, in the same vein as @BetCrimes1984 post road trip criteria:

Games involving teams playing the second of a b2b after a long break versus an opponent who's playing their first after a long break go Over at a 62% clip.

4 qualifiers for Friday:

Cavs/Hawks
Rockets/Dubs
Thunder/Suns
Kings/Clippers

I definitely do not think nets vs cavs/or philly is a coin flip. Nets I think are dropping to 8th seed for sure and maybe outside of playoffs. Team like the bulls got a better roster if they put things together.

finals I think suns are a lock...denver 2nd in west, vs 1 of boston or milwaukee

It won’t be lined a coin flip but either one those, especially Philly could lose to them. They won’t drop much I don’t think. Ive watched garbage teams beat Philly in playoffs. I think nets will play legit d and play hard, I don’t think they dropping 3-4 spots behind a bunch of other crappy teams. Maybe they will. Far as suns go I really can’t say, I’d be hard pressed to call them a lock cause kd might hurt himself after 2 weeks in, they prob should make it, I think Boston is prob just as much a lock to win east, it’s obviously them or milw but think it be Boston.

Basically eastern conference finals feels like a forgone conclusion, I really dunno out west at the moment, seems like lot of things could happen.

Just remember for Thursday... And teams coming back Friday...

A lot of these guys took actual vacations. Who knows what kinda effort you get?

So basically same guessing game as always, but worse. Lol.

You would think we might get some sense of urgency from teams out west but what’s another few games? They usually have more games left after asb don’t they?

This a go you think? Wanna play a bit today

Looks like teams have played anywhere from 56-61 games out of the 82 for the season so they're around 75% done. Getting pretty close to do or die time.
