He's too busy on Twitter sucking Danny Negreanu's gonads and trying to forget how his wife got plowed like a Buffalo snowstorm by a random guy behind his back. Ah...cheaters deserve cheaters...
this doesn't make any sense. poker is literally about making moves that are +ev. disguising your value to get an opponent to call you with the low end of his range is absolutely one of many goals of the game, but that is a +ev move
but to say that is the sole goal is vastly understating it. if all you do is bet small when you have big hands to disguise value, you will be exploited by the second time around the table.
wrong but I love playing against you
Although I haven't played real poker in years
That attitude will get you killed tho
heres the thing, you are just flat out wrong. there is no arguing with you about it, but to say "poker is not about making +ev decisions" is like saying "baseball is not about scoring more runs than the other team"
the game has changed and you just admitted you barely play anymore. its waaaaay more of a thinking game than you are making it out to be. like I said though, no use arguing, but I would love to play at a table with guys who have that mindset.
lol, saying poker isn't about math/EV
Because statistics guys win never
I get it...end of the day luck and moxxy prevail, not +EV at a card table
Expected value is great
Poker is the antithesis of it because humans are there to create the opposite of expected value. Makes it interesting.
I think what you don't understand is that bluffing and representing strong hands and the things you are talking about contribute the EV
So the bluffing, overbetting, underbetting, all of the human things you are speaking of is part of EV. If you just blindly say "im bluffing here because I have nothing and I want to act like I have a hand" that is not an acceptable reason anymore. saying "I am bluffing because, based on the size of the pot, if my opponent folds 40% of the time, this is a profitable play" that is acceptable.
Oh I understand, white cat style
I was over 85% favorite on all three when the money went in. Proper odds for opponent were nowhere in sight. Just awful plays by the guy like he had somewhere else to be.
I actually think I played a pretty good tourney but the opponents weren't very good, which made doing that easier
If I had someone who could set up a HUD for me I would feel more comfortable on a room like ACR for cash games. I just really suck at technology nowadays and know I'm a dog against anyone using a HUD. I feel like knowing the screen name of the person you are playing at the very least is necessary. I think everyone plays hands differently against different types of opponents etc. With anonymous players I don't pay close enough attention when players come and go from the game since I just see a seat number and there isn't a screen name to remember. I think seat 4 could be a fish, but he left and now a solid player sits down and I make a bad play etc.
You are my brah kj but dwoww is right and you are wrong.
Poker, like all forms of gambling, is about expected value. The hard part about poker is that unlike most forms of gambling, you cannot necessarily quantify your EV.
No one is bad at poker and no one is bad at sex.
Plenty of chicks are bad at it, I might be too fuck I'm old
If you ask them, they aren't.
I prefer home cash games, but have played online in the past and currently thinking of starting online again.....where does everyone play now?
Merge, ACR, Bovada are still the offshore options available to US players
what about globalpoker? ppl were posting bout that a lil while back, did that fade away? I never deposited there
I still hate all of those options. Something just feels shady and insecure about it. Even though when I am bored I still play at those spots. Luckily it should be available legally in PA soon
Best estimates for PA were near the end of this year.... I'm pumped
One of my friends started a group for poker playing on credit in detroit area using PPPoker app. I like it so far, games are soft and I don't have to have any money tied up (I'm free rolling my initial deposit already)
