Ruiz is the new Heavyweight champ

Shocking upset in boxing. Andy Ruiz--good record, 33-1, 22 KO--but almost totally ignored and unknown, and an 11-1 underdog, knocked out Anthony Joshua in the seventh and took all three title belts.

It was supposed to be a warmup for Joshua and help build the box office for a title defense against Deonte Wilder, but Ruiz knocked him down several times, and the ref stopped it in the seventh.

Ruiz looks more like Dom Deluise than he does a fighter and appears so out of shape he couldn't last a round, but he's a tough guy. First Mexican heavyweight champ.

This might revitalize the heavyweight division, although a Wilder/Joshua match is not the money maker it would have been.

Seems like it was a classic look-ahead scenario. It looked like a hit from Ruiz in the third round impaired Joshua‘s sense of balance for the rest of the fight he was staggering back to his corner

Fighting shorter guys can present a challenge
