Playoffs Discussion

A week early but to note, and a surprise to me honestly...

Tiger is IN at the Northern Trust.

Wonder if he wants to play President's Cup? No way he could justify giving himself the Captain's pick right now, but if he can gain some ground in the standings, it's a possibility.

I agree.

Presidents Cup is in December this year so that could be a difference as far as if he can contribute. It will be two weeks after Hero.

Hopefully he has a nice, tidy playoffs. The weather will be good so we'll see if it is simply a colder weather thing for the back or something else.

As far as a spot on the team, there will be MUCH debate, no doubt.

I don't know if I am reading too much into it, but Tiger at Pebble and the British kind of looked disinterested. Maybe it was a product of not being in contention, but his body language and level of focus in the late winter/early spring and of course the Masters, was night and day compared to what we've seen since his win. Hopefully it was just the Masters being so emotionally draining that he just kind of checked out the rest of the season. Happens to a lot of guys much younger than him, and Sergio still seems checked out 2+ years after. I would love to see a few more years of competitive Tiger. Might just depend on his health and how bad he wants to get to 18

I thought at first Tiger would want to be a playing captain, and if it was the Ryder Cup, I kind of think he would really try for it. But for President's Cup, combined with his lack of play since April, I think he'll announce sooner rather than later that he is not going to try to do both

I'm taking a shot on Little Rickie and his porno stache....this week at 27-1. I need him to come through for me in a large way on my one and done pool.

Tiger's back is already giving him trouble....

Koepka -120 vs DJ: more of a fade than a play on Brooks. DJ seems disinterested imo. brooks obviously playing well too. Can't pass up this match up at this price.

Rahm should have a really good showing this week...

No play for me. If I was forced I'd play JTP at plus money. Tiger definitely has some health concerns... Good luck if you play it.

Thanks RBT.
Also, im looking at tourney matchup at the Women's Scottish Open:
C. Boultier vs C. Choi
A. Nordqvist vs B. Law
Thought please.

What book does tourney match ups for women? I don't follow women's golf close enough to give an opinion sorry

Thanks RBT.

I don't follow women's as much as I used to.

I'll always tail a well thought out play though.

I took two Tiger fades this afternoon after following his practice round through Tiger Tracker today...

I have Cantlay and Rickie...

The prices were starting to inflate then and now I can buyback if I want...

We'll see, gonna wait a few hours and chew it over.

Poston (+145) vs Woods 1st rd match-up.
Thought?
I am more of a full tourney guy myself. If Tigers back is an issue, and it seems to be, I think over the full tourney it will show more.

Poston might be a bit 'hungover' so-to-speak from last week tomorrow. Just my 2 cents.

Plus money is always enticing though.

But, it's sad. I think we had our one Tiger comeback year plus the Masters this year... That might be all his back had in the tank ... No doubt he's done for this year...at least until Hero...prolly not play...just be captain for Presidents Cup.

Right now, things setting up nicely for a monster Speith-fade on moving day tomorrow

DJ -163 over Speith (3rd Round).....4 units....juicy, but I honestly expected a bit higher.....I'll eat my hat if Speith pulls this out if DJ plays anything but his D game

Welp, DJ brings his D game and is still up by two strokes with 2 to play and goes bogey, bogey in an UGLY way for a push....ri-fukkin-diculous

Two fades for me in the 4th round:

W Clark -115 vs Champ: I think Wyndham is a solid player and I just dont see Champ having two low rounds in a row.

Palmer -125 vs List: Just a really rough year for List. His season is over after tomorrow and needs to regroup. Palmer still wants to play well as he can try to move up more to make it to the finals.

Puncher's shot with Koepka vs DJ still alive tournament match up...

Good luck and enjoy the golf!

FWIW.....my plays are as follows.....all 1/2 unit, so action junkying

Willett -117 over Varner
Kisner +149 over JT
Poulter +104 over Speith

Cantlay and Scott just got going too late for me this week. Bummer. I did take Rahm +325 on the back 9 live yesterday for some fun money as well. Tiger fades profit the week at least.

Tow bombers the last five holes by Champ to push with Clark. Not going to complain about a push, but that felt like a loss. Long day of railing to push two bets... Anyways onward and upward!

Great call on the Tiger fades. Those bets looked "too good to be true" and passed. Great job this week

Ver y interesting. I heard on the telecast that Stevie had a talk with Day about his dedication to the game. When these guys get married and have kids, priorities change (for all of us actually). The time, effort and dedication required to be a winner on this tour is very demanding and not for everyone. Stevie isn't caddying for his health and mc's don't pay the bills. Day is showing his hand here and could be fade material with this announcement. Thanks for sharing.

Just saw the leaderboard... that sucks...fucking Reed
I had him available in my one and done pool, and didn't play him fml....had to choose two this past week and took Fowler (mc) and DeChambeau. I can't stand Fatrick anyway and then he wins....fml.

They're betting Bryson vs Tiger like its free money... I wanted to bet Billy H vs Day but concerned with being paired with Tiger... Could be a total shit show. There is no "next week" without trying this week. Keep us posted how the pro am goes BAR! Thanks

How much, if at all, does the slow play stuff affect Bryson this week? He has been roasted on Twitter, Golf Channel has brought up pace of play on virtually every show this week, and the tour is looking at tweaking the rules/enforcement. Is he able to clear it all out and play well despite that? I don't know the answer to that, but the line on the matchup with Tiger says they have more faith in Bryson than they do Tiger's health
