Line on carmouche is out of control. Taking her.
Completely agree re Luque.Tonight of course I like Shev but odds are prohibitive
so my top 2 plays are...
Vicente Luque -220 - Perry is a known quantity, he can take a shot, he throws hard and he’s willing and ready to turn a fight into a brawl. Luque is more polished and in my opinion more well rounded then Perry, using his crisp boxing and striking techniques to get off on opponents who tend to leave themselves open. This is also not the first time Luque has faced a power puncher or a brawler, in fact, he seems to really excel in the role of matador. I expect Luque to be the sharper, more accurate fighter and to try and keep the fight at a range where Perry can’t clinch him. Perry being Perry will make this an interesting fight for sure and he’ll probably get off a good shot or two over the course of the bout but Luque has never been KO’d and I expect him to be able to control the forward pressure Perry brings with him. I see a decision win for Luque. Also, the reach advantage of Luque 75” to Perry’s 71” and the small height advantage (5’11 to 5’10) will give Luque some leeway to maneuver at range and hopefully stay out of the way of those Perry overhands. Luque also has decent sub game and it is quite possible there could be a stoppage here, just the decision is more likely considering Perry's durability. He could end up showing considerable damage and still surviving.
Volkan Oezdemir -160 - Volkan is technically on a 3-loss skid (SD to Reyes, a Sub loss to A. Smith, and a T/ko loss to D.C.) but, realistically, he won that fight with Reyes and looked really good in my opinion. Ilir Latifi is super jacked but physically looks small (height wise) in the division. My problem with Latifi is his super low output and against a guy like Volkan who pushes the pace, and has KO power in his hands this is a real problem. I’d be ok with it if Latifi made up for his lack of striking output with lots of takedowns but he only manages 1.89 on avg per 15 min w/ a low 32% accuracy. Oezdemir sports a solid 75% takedown rate as well. Lastly, Oezdemir is 6’2" w/ a reach of 75” whereas Latifi is 5’10 and has a reach of 73”. Along with that fact, Volkan is nearing his athletic prime at 29 years of age vs Latifi 36. Now 36 is not old but its also getting up there in age for a sport like MMA. I expect Oezdemir to outland and outwork Latifi, gassing him out by late 2nd rd and getting the KO in round 2 or 3.
Live dog: Oskar Piechota +190 - Not sure why they bringing new guy(Rodolfo Viera ) in who has faced nothing but cans assembling his 5-0 record. Oskar (11-1) has a strong but somewhat underrated grappling game, carries lots of KO power, so I do think we could see a KO so long as he can prevent the takedowns and stay off his back.
Looking fwd to Saturday as well.Card of the year coming next week..
No women's fights- Check
No bantamweight- Check
Solid good 5 fights between SKILLED MARTIAL artists...
Uff is smart-- Put on a bunch of crappy cards this summer and then when college football and NFL is going to start they unleash their best cards uff 241..
Then the big event in ABU DHABI with KHABIB was also strategically placed right when the NFL season starts..
Should be a great card next week.. Looking forward to watching it.
And the greatest thing about this card is there's no overly huge favorite. All fighters can be taken.
I never watched One FC but hear a lot about it. Whee can we watch them? If it's anything like Pride, it's gotta be good. Pride was the shit back in the day. It reminded me of Bloodsport.Anyone watched the One Fc fights?
They are crazy fights, very fast paced and lots of submission attempts.
I find one fc pace to be very fast as the fighters look to finish the other fighter fast.
Where as in the Ufc it’s less of martial arts these days and almost exclusively turned into a Wrestling base with boxing with some kicks.
Turning big American nfl style athletes into fighters. Greg hardy etc. Guys that are athletic but have no martial arts experience can learn Ufc fighting by training in wrestling and some boxing..
I know a guy who made the Ufc and he knows no martial arts. He was a wrestler but had no real martial arts ability. But he made the Ufc.
One fc on other hand is home of martial arts and has bloodsport style battles with philipino Mongolian japan South Korea Singapore Malaysian fighters.
Check out some fights. Remind me of pride.
You can watch the fights on you tube Bro.. It is like pride-- It has the exact same boxing style ring with the white ropes.I never watched One FC but hear a lot about it. Whee can we watch them? If it's anything like Pride, it's gotta be good. Pride was the shit back in the day. It reminded me of Bloodsport.
One FC is about respect and tradition- No trash talking etc-- Just real fighters scrapping pride style---I never watched One FC but hear a lot about it. Whee can we watch them? If it's anything like Pride, it's gotta be good. Pride was the shit back in the day. It reminded me of Bloodsport.
